Eating disorders are going unnoticed on a continuous basis and according to a report from CNN “Binge eating is the most common eating disorder in the United States and remains a difficult condition to identify and treat.” This form of eating disorder is not gender or race specific it does though, generally affects women in their late 20s to mid 40s. The disorder is often confused as an overeating medical disorder, when in reality it is a mental health disorder. The underlying start of the behavior is thought to be the effect of low self esteem, loneliness and depression.
